Reader’s Notebook is a website that was designed to share reading resources with students and parents who participate in Reader’s Workshops.
Reader’s Workshops offer reading enrichment to students in a small, collaborative setting. Each session focuses on the development of effective reading comprehension strategies.
The approach used to teach reading comprehension is inspired by the work of Stephanie Harvey & Anne Goudvis, the authors of Strategies That Work, and many other great books. The foundation of their philosophy is based on research that details the importance of explicitly teaching students the strategies that proficient readers use.Readers_Notebook_by_Playful_Learning.htmlhttp://books.heinemann.com/authors/2471.aspxhttp://books.heinemann.com/authors/3279.aspxhttp://books.heinemann.com/authors/3279.aspxhttp://www.stenhouse.com/pdfs/strats2guide.pdfshapeimage_11_link_0shapeimage_11_link_1shapeimage_11_link_2shapeimage_11_link_3shapeimage_11_link_4
